Dr Swaranjit Singh Bhatti is a Consulting Eye Surgeon with more than 20 years of practice and teaching experience, based in Chembur-Deonar, in the city of Mumbai (Bombay), India.

He also consults at Sewree on Mondays and Thursdays from 2.00 to 8.00 pm at 71, Mithibai Building A D Road. Sewree, Mumbai 400015.

He has achieved his graduate (M.B.B.S.) and postgraduate (M.S., DOMS, DNB, FCPS) qualifications from the Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai, and has worked as a lecturer and then an Associate Professor Ophthalmology at the LT Muncipal Medical College and Hospital and at the Seth GS Medical College, Mumbai.

He has then been a Honorary Professor of Ophthalmology at the Somiaya Medical College, for a while and is now into Full time Private Practice. Dr Bhatti has been a teacher for the M.B.B.S. and M.S. ophthalmology courses for several years, and is currently a teacher for the D.O.M.S. and D.N.B. courses at the Railway hospital, as well as a contract Professor of Ophthalmology at the Grant Medical College and JJ Group of Hospitals, where he teaches the MBBS and MS(ophthalmology) students.

Dr. S S Bhatti has been the President (2007-2008)of the Bombay Ophthalmologists' Association, to which most of the Ophthalmologists in the city of Mumbai belong. Earlier Dr. S S Bhatti was the Secretary of the Bombay Ophthalmologists' Association, as well as the editor of the Journal of the Bombay Ophthalmologists' Association. He is at present on the editoral board of the Journal of the Maharashtra Ophthalmologists' Society, and is the web editor of the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology. His services as a guest lecturer and operating surgeon are in great demand at various conferences in India .

Dr Bhatti has wide clinical expertise, especially in cataract surgery and phacoemulsification, laser procedures on the eyes such as lasik, YAG laser, Argon and Diode laser photocoagulation, glaucoma surgery, orbital and oculo- plastic surgery . He also has a keen interest in computers, photography and teaching.

Besides his mastery of the technical aspects of Ophthalmology, Dr Bhatti has not ignored the human side of the practice of medicine, and is ever willing to spend time explaining to his patients, in simple terms, the diseases they suffer from, as well as holistic suggestions for their cure.
